Tendedero

Tendedero is a multimedia memoir that borrows from my personal and family archive to tell a story about the backs-and-forths of migration, the sacrifices, the real or perceived short-fallings, and the tangible and intangible things that are passed down. It is an installation featuring new and archival photographs, new and passed down garments and accessories, and handwritten notes, all held by a metal clothing rack resting on top of a Mexican blanket. The aesthetic of the installation is a fragmented resemblance of the aesthetics I recall growing up, such as the color terracotta, outdoor clothing lines, and Mexican textile patterns.
